The Floating Islands are the only masses of land in Verrilan that have not been overtaken by deadly fog. With nine distinct humanoid species inhabiting them, they are brimming with lore, history, religion, and culture. Historically, they have also been home to political conflicts and disagreements between the several independent nations governing them. Trade and travel depend on the steam powered sky ships that navigate the Cloud Sea that separates the islands and their inhabitants. From vast fleets of ships that house individuals who call the clouds home, to pirates, to powerful armadas, and city ships that could be considered islands in their own right, the sea presents its own challenges and dangers, outside of the fog swells, of course.
